Normalize not shaming any teams for skipping bowls. Bowls are dumb fun exhibitions that should primarily be a reward for the players. If the players don't want to go that's up to them. ESPN will lose some ad revenue, too bad.

I wonder if the future of bowls will be more skew toward G5 teams that have no realistic hope of playoffs but still want to cap off their season with a celebratory game. The mid-tier P4 bowls may fall off more?

I understand there are some economic arguments for dynamic pricing (increases supply of goods in high demand etc.), but it has to come with price transparency at all times. Otherwise it's just a way to gouge customers.
Everyone loves economics memes.

I literally though this was an Onion headline
Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that sans serif fonts aren’t suited for world-class diplomacy and ordered the department to drop Calibri in favor of Times New Roman, reversing a Biden-era policy intended to help employees who are visually impaired.
Calibri font banished as U.S. diplomacy returns to Times New Roman
Secretary of State Marco Rubio called the Biden administration’s shift to a sans serif font, to assist people with vision issues, a “wasteful” diversity move.

Holy crap my daughter just got offered a $16,000 scholarship to USF. Really incredible to see her hard work over the last four years paying off.

My brilliant plan to improve the CFP committee: after they do all the discussion, debate, etc. have each member rank the teams separately and compile them AP poll style. That ensures they can't rig things to keep a team in or out and gives them more credibility.

Bluesky, here's an important matter to settle. Also: a request for more coo-kies (please)
We baked absolute units 🐮🐄
@themerl.bsky.social But are they coo-kies or mooh-kies?

The cows grew a bit, but they are totally #vegan.

My One Big Idea for this week is to tie progressive tax brackets to median income. As median income rises, so do tax bracket thresholds. That gives rich people at least a little incentive to see median income rise.

This picture has been making the rounds again, and is being misidentified again.

This is a GOOSEFISH.

This is NOT a tasselled wobbegong shark.

It’s a great pic. I get why people are very excited about it. But it’s as easy to give it the right name as the wrong one.

The right has been diving deeper and deeper into angry divisive politics for 2+ decades, but the moment the electorate turns, the VERY DAY voters show that they prefer positivity and unity, Repubs will spin on a dime. It won't be authentic but it will be fast.
Honestly I think THIS is how Mamdani really represents the future of the Democratic party: Turning away from nasty primary fights for more collaborative "we're both on the same side in the end" mutual love-ins.
@jamestalarico.bsky.social sent this video to his 10,000 volunteers:

“We will make the case for why we are best positioned to win this race — but we will always treat Congresswoman Crockett with the utmost respect. She is my colleague and she is a leader in our state. She deserves nothing less.”

“A Charlie Brown Christmas”—among the most beloved holiday specials of all time—premiered 60 years ago, on December 9, 1965. The first Peanuts TV special, it not only won an Emmy Award; it won a place in the pantheon of pop-culture classics.

This is genuinely awesome, but isn't it a little sad that we have to celebrate just finding candidates for every race in the World's Greatest Democracy
Texas Democrats just did something historic under the leadership of new state party chair @kendallscudder.bsky.social. We have filed a candidate in EVERY 2026 race.

U.S. Senate: 1 of 1
U.S. House: 38 of 38
State Senate: 15 of 15
State House: 150 of 150
State Board of Education: 8 of 8
We Did It, Texas Dems, We Did It
Candidates in every legislative, statewide, and federal race. Now it’s time to build power where it counts.
