A must read 🧵 👇 about the overly close relationship between the EHRC and hate groups like Sex Matters and the LGB Alliance. These groups are helping to shape the EHRC policies which impact detrimentally on the lives of our trans brothers and sisters.
This will be my thread concerning my FOIA Request to the EHRC. I think I got some actually worthwhile files, but I'll start with sharing the files so that other people can get their eyes on them.
They provided considerable correspondence between EHRC staff and antitrans orgs.

Depressing, but not surprising. And with the government, judiciary and 4th Estate seemingly in lock/goosestep over the process of eroding even the most basic rights for trans people, this doesn't seem like changing any time soon...

In 2016 there was no For Women Scotland or Sex Matters or LGB Alliance. The word "feminism" actually meant "feminism", and had never yet been used as code for transphobia. Engender, Zero Tolerance, Rape Crisis were all forging new work, not fighting a rearguard action against bigotry. Imagine.
