going to start writing reverse mechsploitation where a severely traumatized pilot & her barely-functional mech find themselves cast aside as used up by the empire that brainwashed them & repurposing their mech into an agricultural tool while the pilot is slowly coaxed to heal by her new community

Going from Core Tomb Raider to Crystal Dynamics Tomb Raider is interesting. The mechanics are smoother and it moves with so much more momentum (def inspired by the movies), but I miss the patient, meditative feeling required to master the original controls.

It's so clear why this was the SNES game that every single RPG Maker 2k took assets from.
wrapped up Seiken Densetsu 3 for the first (!) time after initially playing it years and years ago and it’s still such a visual accomplishment for the humble Super Famicom, just absurd scenes they were pulling off just as 32-bit systems were establishing themselves

Having a grand time playing Carnival (@beyondbooleans.bsky.social) right now. Love how it freely mixes pixel art resolutions. Gorgeous soundtrack. And its setting and themes are bringing to mind both Daphne du Maurier's Don't Look Now and Flight of the Falcon, which I read recently!
