they probably hate chat control because the anti-constitution office is underfunded and has lots of constraints on their surveillance, chat control would let other agencies wiretap unofficial meetings. no telling what would fall out of a general dragnet on AfD members more generally!

well the AfD is very much on the defensive because finally getting the "anti-constitutional" designation (after years of their fingerprints being all over political assissination and coup attempts) means their party functions and fundraising meetings can be wiretapped without a warrant!

tbh this isnt a left/right or prog/cons thing at all. Catholicism has been thru a few, em, moral panics over the millenia, and their whole thing is baseline human dignity and international law. we defo had a freak law and order fetish in there for a bit but the question is how not whether to speak!
