A long overdue reform is that by law all US ambassadors should be career foreign service officers, like most countries because they treat it as a job for serious professionals. Not "political appointee" gigs openly sold to campaign donors or handed out as a retirement perk for washed-up politicians.

This is an excellent explanation of how unbelievably incompetent and full on nonsense the note from Weiss was. My guess: 1. Someone who has very little experience is journalism (and not the stuff that tickles billionaires) is clearly a mile wide and foot deep as an editor and in far over her skis.
Watching the segment: The first thing I'm going to zero in on is the crime stats. Here's how 60 Minutes set it up:
- Leavitt saying the people going to CECOT were the worst of the worst
- Then 60 Minutes saying the Human Rights Watch report says that nearly half had no criminal history at all
