When I moved to SJ years ago I was thrilled to turn on CBC and hear a piece about an NB aquarium celebrating a seal’s birthday. Wow, I thought. I love this place. A seal’s birthday makes the news. Well now Cross Country Checkup is treating US invasion rhetoric the SAME way as a seal’s birthday.

If I were Canadian PM I would immediately:

1. Create a new $15B science fund

2. Offer any credentialed US scientist funding for lab startup and replacement of NIH grants if they move to Canada

3. Immediate permanent residency

4. Citizenship after 2 years

Overnight a science superpower

Yesterday had appt at the hospital. Saw about 2-3 other masks (surgical). Woman directing people had one on, then removed it while continuing to talk to patients. Please, at the minimum, wear a mask in the hospital. Anyone around you could have cancer or any number of illnesses. Just wear a mask!
