moxiest.art , this came across my timeline and I'm wondering what thoughts you, as a grilled cheese professional, have about it?

The bolt won't fit through the hole you drilled for it? Problematic gauge gap.
Your thanksgiving stuffing doesn’t taste right?

Problematic sage gap.
Somebody's taken out an entire chapter of your book?

Problematic page gap.

Higglety-Pigglety
King Ozymandias
ordered a towering
statue of stone.

Little did he know his
egomaniacal
project would end up
in pieces, alone.
I heard there was a statue tall
That sneered at folk and commanded all
But you don't really care for symbols do ya
It goes like this the feet the fist
The head that fell the aim that missed
The long lost king whose name was Ozymandias
Ozymandias
Ozymandias
Ozymandias
Ozymaaaaandias
Once upon a desert sandy
As through winds the trav'ling man he
Spied the face of Ozymandy
Lying, simply lying there
Suddenly there was some writing
Pon the plinth that he was sighting
That the sand and time were blighting
Quoth the statue, "Now despair"

@rahaeli.bsky.social , have you seen this? I know you have Opinions about Opus Dei....
BREAKING: Pope Leo XIV is set to effectively disband Opus Dei in the coming weeks.

This would be the most sweeping internal reform of his pontificate — and a dramatic continuation of Pope Francis’s legacy.
NEW: Pope Leo Set To Break Up Opus Dei
If Pope Leo does indeed approves a plan that effectively dissolves Opus Dei’s structure, it would be the most significant internal action of his short pontificate to date.

That's Columbine. Columbus is a pink lotion often used to sooth mosquito bites.
That’s Catbus. Columbus is the vernacular name for the flower Aquilegia.
That's a column. Columbus is the name of the large friendly vehicle in the movie Totoro.

I tried getting the garden ready for planting, but the ground was frozen hard. Till issue.
I tried playing a sonata but the ornamentation just didn’t sound right. Trill issue.
I tried writing a sonnet but my pen didn't work. Quill issue

A friend just told me that @rosemarykirstein.bsky.social started a Patreon to help her finish the last two books in the Steerswoman series, and I have never subscribed to a thing more quickly: www.rosemarykirstein.com/2024/11/so-a...

Bumping the threadstarter to repeat the plea again: PLEASE stop using follow-farming hashtags like #NoDemUnder1k, #NoDemUnder5k, #BlueCrew, #FBR, #FBPE, etc -- any "use this hashtag/like this post/repost this post/reply to this post/etc to get followers". You are providing cover for bad actors.
Yet another plea to people who are using or following people off follow-farming hashtags like #NoDemUnder1K, #NoDemUnder5K, #BlueCrew, #FBR, etc etc: please do not do that, it's how disinformation operations work. I'm already seeing accounts in those hashtags that are likely disinformation ops. 1/

@jordanlhawk.bsky.social Did you base the Bat Room in the Widdershins library on this? I loved it in the books, but holy guano, it's real! Excellent surreal repurposing of a real thing and/or imagining of something that turns out to also be real!
'The library at Mafra National Palace in Portugal. Where, to keep books from being damaged by insects, they use 500 bats.
The bats are kept in boxes during the day but at night they are let out and eat up to double their own body weight in insects.'

Folks, I think a lot of you are following that Pictures of the Floating World account: you might want to unfollow them and instead follow @curiousordinary.bsky.social, who is the one actually writing those posts, and who is having their work stolen word for word by a rotten egg.
Today I was devastated to discover that this account 👇 has been copying my content from here and elsewhere and reposting it as their own. I work really hard on the content I share and it feels disappointing and unfair that someone would do this. And they've blocked me, any idea what I can do? 😭

Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #154,804!

I just missed the Hellthread, but was in time for Alf, Gandalf, and so many clockfaces.

By popular demand, a thread where Cally geeks out about how land is surveyed in most of the US, and why when you look down from a plane at the Midwest and Great Plains you see a whole bunch of squares.
