A weak jobs report in July, and jobs numbers for May and June revised downward.

Just 73,000 jobs added in July, while May and June were revised down. It's the weakest 3-month period of job growth since COVID. If you throw out 2020, it's the weakest 3-month period since 2010 and the aftermath of the Great Recession.

Yikes. It's not often you get 3 months of bad jobs numbers in a single month. I wonder if any major changes to global trade policy happened exactly 3 months ago?
“.. Hard to overstate how bad this jobs report was.”

President Donald Trump's former defense attorney is preparing for a new role as a federal appeals court judge following his Senate confirmation. Emil Bove was approved by a 50-49 vote to the lifetime seat despite whistle-blower complaints stemming from his time at the Justice Department.

Trump, it should be noted, offered a paid endorsement for a line of "God Bless the USA" Bibles that included an "Inauguration Day Edition" that was embossed with his name and the date of his inauguration. religionnews.com/2025/01/06/t...

We can't afford Medicaid.

We can't afford Medicare.

We can't afford SNAP.

We can't afford to feed kids at school.

But we can afford a 90,000 sqft expansion at the white house.

They're just gonna keep stepping up the waste, while robbing us on all the levels.

As usual Rachel Maddow is on the case.

A Virginia company with no track record is getting $1.2 billion to build a massive immigrant prison camp in Texas.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reveals the firm is based at a bizarre address—and wildly unqualified. Corruption? Cronyism? Both.
It’s f’d up.

There will 100% be weddings in the “ballroom” (for a price, which will not end up in the U.S. Treasury) for Trump sycophants and grifters
And for a cool $1 million to Trump’s personal coffers, you too could have your wedding there, complete with a visit from the orange blob who will regale you with tales of how the 2020 election was stolen from him.

It seems almost ridiculous to ask but what in the fucking hell is he even talking about?
Trump says Triple H and the rest of his sports commission "will be working on college football in terms of, uh, what happened. It's a mess. What they're doing with college football and the fans are upset about it. Players are being taken from team after team and traded around like playing cards."

Smithsonian removes Trump from impeachment exhibit in American History Museum
A temporary placard, on display since 2021, described the president's historic impeachments. Officials said the exhibit was restored to an earlier version following a review of legacy content.

Trump said Epstein was inappropriate for hiring Trump’s workers. Right, because that’s where Epstein crossed the line.
REPORTER: What caused the breach between you and Epstein?

TRUMP: That's such old history. Very easy to explain, but I don't want to waste your time by explaining it. He did something that was inappropriate. He hired help and I said 'don't ever do that again.' I never went to the island.

TAPPER: 14 Republicans say you're risking undermining critical research by holding up NIH funding

VOUGHT: If they were a company, their stock price would in shambles. They in some respects caused the pandemic. You have an entire institute that does nothing more than DEI research at the NIH.

Please do not validate Politico's decision to re-brand conspiratorial troll Darren Beattie as an "academic"! The man temp-taught for one year in 2017 and then started up an InfoWars knockoff and has been an alt-right propagandist ever since. Beattie's not an "academic" any more than Alex Jones is.
This the 2nd time recently that mainstream media has called some fringe white nationalist an "academic". First it was grad dropout and eugenicist Jordan Lasker, now Darren Beattie, who yes has a PhD (2016) but now writes things like "20 CIA and FBI agents CONFIRM Obama was behind Russia Hoax…" 2/
