1/ I'm not here for anyone's hot takes about how Rev. Jackson was a "sellout" bc he worked within the admittedly limited framework of the Democratic Party, or whatever the fuck "more radical than thou" bullshit certain among the more vulgar leftists have to offer, and which, I've heard today...

Rev. Jesse Jackson understood the immense promise of America and his role in shaping its destiny. With courage, tenacity & an audacious spirit, he widened our capacity for imagining true unity and deepened our commitment to justice. I was one of the lucky beneficiaries of a vision he never forsook.

Writing is thinking.

It's not some marginal boring task you can skip. It's the heart of it.
It’s easy to think writing is mainly the transcription of ideas you already have—that is, until you try to write something worthwhile, and you find what you thought were saying transform into something far more interesting in the process. This skips that last step, and that is *not* an improvement.
“We plan to hire an AI rewrite specialist to ingest the reporting by Hannah and others and use AI to convert it into stories.”

The editor of the Cleveland Plain Dealer said it will use AI to ‘write’ its articles.

Democrats should propose amendments to the SAVE act that require the government to furnish free IDs to all eligible voters before requiring them, automatically register all people to vote, expand mail-in voting, and create a national voting holiday. Then watch republicans block them.

Control of the House isn't going to come down to a small number of close races; the military seizing ballots would lead to riots in the streets; the "incumbent Republican majority" will be dissolved on January 3rd so it won't be there to do anything.

It's a nightmare in that it's entirely made up.
Over the past three weeks, the "nightmare scenario" for November's midterms has grown more plausible www.vox.com/politics/478...

Something the AI people never get is that if you can generate a book every day, so can everybody else! I have access to Claude and if I wanted a book written by Claude, I could have one today! Why do I need you?

Sick of this dystopian tech overlord men with no panache and bad haircuts enabling a pants shitting president and bald hitler wannabe trying to undo things that can’t be undone ass reality we are living. They are so tedious and venal. It’s galling.
February 3, 2026 at 6:30 PM
When you say shit like this, you need to run some math. How many ICE agents are there? How many military folks, & how many of them do you think would take up arms against citizens exercising their right to vote? And how many Americans will take kindly to being told they can’t vote?
I hope that Democrats realize what’s happening in Minnesota is also a dry run for what the regime has planned for the midterms.

Taylor Rehmet, a Democrat (& @runforsomething.net candidate!) flipped a state senate district in Texas that Trump had won by 17 points.

Expand your imagination. When great candidates rooted in community step up to lead, anything is possible.

Trump wants fascism but hasn't figured out how to solve the Country Too Big problem. He has enough goons and federal agents to gum up a couple American cities but not enough for the number of people who hate him, he can't arrest every journalist, the scare tactics are upsetting but ultimately anemic

Wow! I can’t believe we got this done! Now call your senators and tell them restrictions are nice, but they should strip the BBB funding of ICE and CBP.
🚨 The Senate has agreed to a deal to vote on 5/6 full appropriations bills and replace the DHS funding measure with a 2-week stopgap bill, per multiple sources. That gives time to negotiate on the Dem demands for ICE and CBP restraints.

“Hope can be the consequence of action, not just its cause.”

We should feel good things when we push back and it works. I know it’s very Bluesky to say there’s still work to do. But shuddupaminute and feel proud that we did this.
Amid these dark moments, something important is beginning to shift.

It's clearly the result of healthy political pressure - which we must sustain, and build.

This is democracy. The People protecting themselves from tyranny. No consultants. No PACs. Just ordinary people with extraordinary will and courage.
All of this happened with basically no help from elected officials of the opposition party. This was entirely the people.
