“Undoubtedly, the president wants us to tone down the references to Jeffrey Epstein and focus on other matters. And that’s exactly what I plan to do, because Jeffrey Epstein references at this point seem like intentional jabs at the president’s hope to change the subject away from Jeffrey Epstein.”
Please stop talking about Jeffrey Epstein. You're making Donald Trump mad. | Opinion
President Donald Trump has had it with people mentioning Jeffrey Epstein. So let's stop mentioning Jeffrey Epstein. No more Jeffrey Epstein, people.

It's the least important element to this, but I find it fascinating on an aesthetic level too.

Americans are watching a bootleg broadcast that someone in Canada recorded off their TV. And people are copying it to various platforms (however imperfect visually) to get it out as widely as possible.

Well, it's out there now!😁
Just watched it and it's as bad as I thought it'd be, Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib all in one... just by proxy this time.😒
As a long time shortwave listener I often relied on Voice of America to fill in the details of newspapers and evening news reports from around the world.

Just a minor clarification. It was not leaked, apparently, but released in Canada because of the incompetence of the Bari Team. I guess she didn't realize there were different distribution streams in different countries?

It used to be that the United States would use Voice of America and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty to transmit truth across the borders of repressive regimes.

Now the work of American reporters, having been censored, is being smuggled across the border to reach Americans.
The 60 Minutes piece on the Trump Administration’s torture prison that Bari Weiss doesn’t want you to see has leaked.

It looks like the 60 Minutes segment on CECOT was accidentally released in Canada. It'll be really interesting to compare this to whatever version Weiss might eventually release.

Share it far and wide.

NEWS: Bill Clinton is demanding full transparency from the Trump DOJ on the Epstein files.

Clinton’s spokesman says the DOJ’s selective release suggests someone is being protected.

He calls on Trump to direct Bondi to immediately release all remaining materials referencing Clinton.

Biden's labor secretary had a fantastic deal with US Steel and labor unions to build all wind turbines here in the US with unions. That's all out the damned window now.

This is what the Asst AG for Civil Rights is doing.
So many Amendments, so little time.
BREAKING: The Trump administration is suing D.C. over its ban on semi-automatic (AR-15) weapons.

As with many fascist functionaries, Weiss also doesn't know what she's doing. She doesn't know anything about TV news or even reporting. The right wing demands to be put in charge but they don't do homework. They're the emperor telling Mozart the symphony was good but had too many notes.
whatever this is it isn't journalism

every story about this person reads the same

she made a career claiming media was lazy & politically biased, having no clue how journalism works or the rigor involved in reporting.
now in charge, she assumes she can easily produce her own lazy, politically biased work, but keeps running into walls
One explanation for Bari killing the story is that she did so as a public act of fealty to the administration. But another is that, as an inexperienced journalist, she doesn’t understand that a refusal to go on the record is a kind of comment in and of itself

setting aside that I don't think you need to "advance the ball" when the story is the administration disappearing people to a foreign torture prison, you can't say that after killing the story because the admin didn't comment! How exactly does Stephen Miller's presence "advance the ball"?
