Retired labor and public service atty. Just hanging out he/him or anything not pornographic
And, of course they ran this during the Biden Administration when wages were actually increasing faster than inflation, didn't they .... didn't they?
Amazon Billionaire-owned newspaper tries to convince Americans higher prices are good, actually

Give Trump the splashy headline and credit then wait five paragraphs to mention these deals were only possible because of Biden's legislation. Paper of Record! 🙄

The same is true of the US Postal Service
That is up to the government. If it insists on the post office being a private for profit, then no. If it makes it a public service again, then yes.

Look leaving aside the prose, it is a deep insult to the memory of Hunter S. Thompson to argue that he was "the perfect dinner party companion". And let's not even start on the question of "could Nuzzi hang with him" because lol no, she wouldn't last 10 minutes.

Credit, where due, the NYTimes posted a story on this www.nytimes.com/2025/11/18/b...

I just wish news outlets like @nytimes.com would cover it when a sitting President calls a reporter piggie for a question he did not like, but I seem to be asking too much of "the paper of record"
I wish we lived in a land where if journalists heard the president call one of their colleges "piggy" or suggest another of their colleagues, who was butchered for what he wrote, in some way had it coming, they would close their laptops, leave as soon as possible, and ask to be reassigned.
November 18, 2025 at 11:13 PM
Hey, @nytimes.com the President of the United States called a female reporter "piggy" because he didn't like her question. Are you going to cover this as a news piece? Or is this not newsworthy when Trump does it

When Biden's son was involved in foreign business deals the NYTimes did not term it "blending governance and family business"
Saudi officials used President Trump’s state visit in May to pique his interest in a major real estate development, the latest example of Trump blending governance and family business, particularly in Persian Gulf countries. nyti.ms/4r7mboU

The reactionaries fondly remember Larry saying that women do not have the capacity to do math and science
It’s funny that Harvard has been a consistent target for reactionary campaigns, and not one has been dedicated to ousting Larry Summers, an openly political figure who was friends with Jeffrey Epstein; meanwhile, it’s a fine-toothed comb for *checks notes* Black women.

Ppl need to understand what's happening here.

The GOP response to the shutdown was: You're gonna cave, or we're going to hurt vulnerable people by shutting off SNAP. The Dems, unwilling to let that happen, caved.

Having watched that, the GOP is now saying: "Give us what we want on abortion or ..."

Every time I see this letter, I feel a little better knowing there are - or were - people like this in the world
In 2006 a high school English teacher asked students to write to a famous author & ask for advice.

KURT VONNEGUT - born 103yrs ago today - was the only one to respond.

His reply was a doozy.

Dude, your whip voted for it. Did you not whip this vote? If you did, fire Durbin If you didn't, you should be fired
I will not support the Republican bill that’s on the Senate floor because it fails to do anything of substance to fix America’s healthcare crisis.

Masked ICE agents put damper on Oak Park Girl Scout food drive: ‘It’s heartbreaking as a mom’
Federal immigration agents were confronted in Oak Park on Saturday morning by residents blowing whistles as local Girl Scouts collect food for local pantries, rattling some girls and their parents.

Teen Vogue crushed the NYTimes and other news outlets on reporting in politics in the past few years. This is a sad day, particularly for the younger set
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.
