For decades, urban walkers have been treated like vehicles, with mapping tools optimising routes for a single metric – travel time – while treating a dark alley and a high street as identical, if the distance is the same.

Don't hold your breath.
Labour absolutely stinks when it comes to walking and cycling.
The only transport mode they seem to care about is driving.
Cycling and walking could help deliver almost everything Brits say they want to achieve in 2026 — if we design streets to support them.

Getting fitter, losing weight, being healthier, saving money; enabling active travel quietly does all of it. With no gym contracts.

First section of South Kerry Greenway to open as years later some farmers still battling CPO use
A 3.1km section of the South Kerry Greenway is planned to open on Friday, Kerry County Council has confirmed. The greenway -- which has been strongly opposed by some locals, including some who claim there are issues with the section due to open on Friday -- is expected to run for nearly 30km between Glenbeigh and Cahersiveen eventually. The route is mostly on an old railway alignment, which runs parallel to part of the Ring of Kerry Road.

Is Labour too? Could that be why Starmer won’t investigate?
