Even more proof that this has never been about making Minnesota safer. It has always been about political retribution for President Trump and his allies. I’m standing with @governorwalz.mn.gov and @mayorjacobfrey.bsky.social.

Rubio. Very intelligent. Experienced. Educated. Opportunist. Lust for power. Despised Trump publicly. No principles. CBS?
This is what state-regime media looks like.

CBS News ran a segment gushing over Rubio — calling this his “moment" and saying: “Florida, once an American punchline, has become a leader on the world stage. Marco Rubio, we salute you! You are the ultimate Florida Man!”

Trump sees dollar signs with Venezuelan oil, has designs on other countries, and clearly sees himself as some kind of emperor of the world. I don’t think he has plans to leave in 2028. And he’s showing he’ll use the military however he wants

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

Sorry, but it *is* unnerving. I agree with @rieckhoff.bsky.social that this idea that the military is Trump's personal muscle, and should kill anyone he points at, should be among the biggest stories in America right now.
Hey Tom, saw you on MSNBC earlier today.
That conversation was a bit unnerving.

Spending lots of time in Europe and engaging with the govts & armies of all 49 countries, ALL of them use the titles “Minister of Defense,” “Minister for Defense,” or “Minister of National Defense.”

Netherland had the last “Minister of War” in 1948.

So there’s that.

As a former Republican, this especially jumped out and something I've said so many time:

"a long list of races we [Republicans] won that we had no business winning. We weren’t brilliant or particularly clever. But we understood that far more races are won on emotion vs. facts."
"My Plea to Democrats: Stop Being Polite, Go Nuclear"

Absolute #mustread for Zeteo from former GOP strategist Stuart Stevens, in which he lays out what the Dems must do if they win back the House next year, including defunding the entire executive branch and nationalizing SpaceX.

I’m just a simple country political scientist but where I come from if your country has a secret police force that can give orders to members of the national legislature that’s…what’s the right word…bad.
“The Department of Homeland Security has formally instituted a new requirement that members of Congress and their staff provide a week of notice before they visit immigration detention facilities, a policy that is at odds with a federal law that allows lawmakers to make unannounced oversight trips.“
