If I want to hear from average Americans about the news, I'll go to social media. We need journalists to seek and speak the truth to us.

The resounding message—on social media, on TV, in the goddamn subways—is that thin is back in. And companies are doing what they’ve always done best: exploiting our insecurities to cash out.

1/ It was the height of the pandemic, but Phoebe Putney Memorial had good news: At 99 years old, Maude Burke was the oldest COVID-19 patient they were discharging.

In a video, staff waved balloons, celebrating Burke beating the disease.

There was one issue: It wasn’t true. 🧵

Justice Alito Makes The Most Sense, Or This Week At The Supreme Court In The Cox-Sony Copyright Case
One can never predict how a court will rule after oral argument. But I do fear that in Cox Communications v. Sony Music Entertainment we are on the precipice of getting yet another major copyright decision from the Supreme Court where the words "First Amendment" are not uttered even once—unless, of course, someone like Justice Alito has something to say about it, because he was basically the only justice whose questions addressed the practical effect on people's ability to speak online should Sony's arguments prevail.

Keep a copy of this to show your children the exact moment the Trump cult ended. This is their cynical attempt to prevent the release of the Epstein files AND ,now that we have seen the email from Epstein that clearly states Bill Clinton never visited his island, to revive their dead narrative.

Not three months ago, Bondi and Patel stated unequivocally that there was nothing more to investigate (but that is indeed the reason the will give for not releasing the files now)
Instead of just releasing the Epstein files, Trump ordered the DOJ to investigate Democrats and AG Pam Bondi is complying.

Are they setting up a pretext to block the release by arguing the files are now part of an active investigation? I’m not saying that would work, but he’s desperate to block.
