One of the very cool things about this case is that the court called one of the original framers of the MT state constitution to help interpret it because our constitution is only 50 years old and Mae Nan Robinson Ellingson was 24 years old when she helped write it.

There's a very good point here. Progress is incremental, and every fight can't demand the same amount of energy or we won't get anything done. We need to prioritize our battles and learn to make compromises where we can afford to. We can revisit issues later, after the bigger problems are addressed.
