Any chance to relate my favourite Laughton/Mitchum story -
Charles Laughton worked up the courage to confess to Mitchum he was gay. He stammered it out... to which Mitchum responded -

Anyway, 10 out of 10, again. (Seeing it on a big screen made all the rightly famous black/white cinematography just feel that much more amazing. It's also notable how in a pitch perfect melodrama Mitchum mostly *underplays* to make the big moments land hard. Laughton knew exactly what he was doing.)
Sure, I have it on Criterion Bluray and all, but turn down a chance to see it theatrically? I think not.

What this underscores is a fundamental truth that while none of the rest of us need supremacists in our spaces, and are just fine without them, supremacists need the rest of us or they collapse against each other. Without them we're fine. Without us they've got nothing.
