Two excellent malapropisms from one phone call with my mother today. Referring to ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ as ‘Where Are You Now?’ was pretty great, but saying ‘Mum’s Decorating’ instead of ‘The Illustrated Mum’ almost finished me off.

I was talking to a friend about this the other day but tech policy in the UK is just the most embarrassing thing ever. Imagine having to brief some of this nonsense with a straight face

Fuck the Labour Party but grateful to have an MP that has been voting with her conscience this week against the deplorable, harmful, and cowardly legislation the government has been pushing through the Commons
I voted against legislation proscribing Palestine Action as terrorists tonight, acting as a teller for the noes.

Instead of ending UK support for a foreign power committing genocide in Gaza, the government is cracking down on people taking a stand against it.

Highlight of the wedding was obviously watching one of my best friends marry the love of his life, but it was also pretty great when one guest said to me “You’re the woman from the bar that was laying into the guy trying to defend private healthcare.”

Wedding highlights: A playlist that included ‘I’m Just Ken,’ the theme tune to H2O Just Add Water, and two Kurupt FM songs.

Lowlights: Making a Succession joke to someone who introduced themselves as Cousin Greg and it going straight over their head

Obviously this is Very Bad but I do now really want Taylor Jenkins Reid to write that book
This was just posted by @tbretc.bsky.social on another platform. The Chicago Sun-Times obviously gets ChatGPT to write a ‘summer reads’ feature almost entirely made up of real authors but completely fake books. What are we coming to?

Now, I’m anti-death penalty but I’m afraid the £1,000 proposed fine for people listening to music out loud on public transport isn’t enough for the woman on my bus who was watching a video of someone giving birth on without headphones in

"It's either us or Reform" the Labour canvasser says, as the Labour Government launches a new campaign to crack down on immigrants, strips more rights for LGBTQ+ people, pulls back from climate funding, halves its international aid, abandons disabled people...
Told Labour canvasser the other day I was going to vote Green again and he said he understood you have to vote with your heart "but it's either us or Reform". Tried to ask if he had any positive reasons to vote Labour but he was already walking away.
