Will say that when everyone was masking we eradicated a whole strain of flu. It doesn’t circulate anymore and seems like now would be a good time to walk around with a mask if you have stopped doing so. Flu is no joke.

It’s actually a two/three-fold issue. 1) The vaccine this year isn’t a close match for what ended up being the dominant flu strain, though still provides more protection than no vac. 2) overall vaccination rates are down and 3) people have rejected basic illness protocols since Covid.
