Being uncomfortable
When asked to answer
A legitimate question… is
Entirely different than being
The object of your insults and
Mudslinging.

Telling a shooting victim as
You follow him down the street
That you have a gun in your purse?

No. Not the same.

before the trump admin, this would have been one of the biggest political scandals in history and alone would be solid grounds for impeachment and removal.
Trump rages that Henry Cuellar didn’t pay him back for a pardon by switching parties, blasting Cuellar for a “lack of LOYALTY.”

In other words, Trump admits he was trying to use his pardon power to buy Republicans a House seat.

Q: "Has your party been making affordability enough of a focus?"

Fitzpatrick: "I don't think they have."

Q: "The president himself called affordability a 'Democratic scam.'"

Fitzpatrick: "I don't believe that to be true…It's real…I don't know where he's going with that."

He said the Supreme Court's order “defended Texas's fundamental right to draw a map that ensures we are represented by Republicans."

My dad abhors any negative comments about immigrants. Asked him recently why he’s so strong on it: ‘Because we’re always happy to take the rich and clever ones. Which means it’s not about disliking immigrants. It’s about disliking the poor and vulnerable. And that’s a bad human instinct.’
This is so disgusting.

His lab was humming with discovery. After one year under Trump, it’s almost silent
John Quackenbush built a lab that is at the forefront of human genetics research and bioinformatics. Trump administration cuts have put it in danger of collapse.

“We knew very well what we were electing” isn’t a defense of Trump’s actions. It’s an admission of your complicity.

It was very naive how many STEM people thought Republicans would stop at the humanities
Heartbreaking. The University of Nebraska will terminate its entire Earth science department.

One of the country's most successful and respected geology & climate programs: gone.

When ideologues & politicians are threatened by the very act of studying climate change, I wonder: who of us is next?
It's over.

Despite the fact that the academic council recommended against it, despite the fact that the program brought in more tuition than it cost, and despite the fact that Nebraskans need & deserve this expertise, Earth & Atmospheric Sciences will be cut.

I'll say again: we are oddly selective about the government services about which we will say, they operate at a loss.

We say Amtrak and the post office "lose money" but we never say highways, the court system, the Pentagon, etc lose money
The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

Newsom's morality is his problem. So the only case for him is that "HE CAN WIN."

Much of this lies in his white male bland handsomeness. Centrists think that solves Dems' "cultural issues."

What this gets wrong is that 2028 must be about corruption. And he's on the opposite side of that.
Money Doesn't Buy Elections. It Does Something Worse.
Campaign ads barely move the needle. The real influence is hiding in plain sight.

41 minutes of watching two shipwrecked men trying to flip a boat and signaling for surrender/help before firing on them again reminds me of the 9.5 minutes Derek Chauvin knelt on George Floyd’s neck, in that it’s an agonizingly long time to be killing helpless people who clearly posed no threat.
