This is also why GovHK is arresting ppl for sedition cos they said relevant govt officials are partly to blame and should also be held accountable. If there's one thing this govt has made clear, it's that you do NOT get to blame the govt for anything it isn't willing to take responsibility for.

The process of marriage also involves quite a bit more paperwork in the UK than in the US, *especially* if you marry a foreigner, which nowadays requires Home Office interviews, advance notice, all kinds of stuff ostensibly designed to prevent coerced marriage but mostly just turned to racism.
