You don't turn into a whole new person when you turn thirty. You're still all the people you were before. You don't have to give up fanfic or sell your toy collection or whatever else you think will make you more "adult." Time makes you adult. You need to make you happy.
people over 30 quote this with some life advice for the rest of us?

Seattle area folks, I will be at Charlie's Queer Books tonight at 7pm! charliesqueerbooks.com (I mean, I'll be there no matter where you are, but it's probably less relevant if you're in, say, Indianapolis.)

Teach me, dear creature, how to think and speak:
Lay open to my earthy gross conceit,
Smoth’red in errors, feeble, shallow, weak,
The folded meaning of your words’ deceit.

Just a random and totally not self-serving reminder that middle grade and young adult books are often fun reads, and quick reads, and not forbidden to you just because you grew up! If a book where the protagonist is a kid sounds like fun, give it a look! Ain't no shame in it!

Kindle Unlimited is both the best and worst book-related thing to happen to me. I've read over 300 books this year, 99% of them have been KU books.

I also have Libby, to download books from my library, but the 3 week timeline to finish is too much pressure!!

Writing is an act of emotion.
Writing is an act of confession.
Writing is an act of speculation.
Writing is an act of reflection.
Keep writing.

"That's God telling you to grow up" is not the clever barb you think it is when thrown at a full adult who pays a mortgage, sleeps under a blanket covered in dinosaur bones, and still collects My Little Ponies. I have done all the growing up I intend to do, thanks.
