Art nerds pls help: I have a clear memory of seeing a modern art painting when I was a kid (maybe when we lived in Philly?) that's like, a perfect circle, but just in the corner there's a drop of paint. i think defining white american culture as the absence of culture or the absence of seasoning is harmful in ways that aren’t immediately obvious. like the first thing i think of is that this makes it seem definitionally fragile. it breaks as soon as you add something new. which comes up in the film
