When I was escaping homelessness and abuse in 2016, I emailed a dozen churches with “hello I am trying to get my life back on track. I would love to attend church if someone could give me a ride” and I got turned down everywhere. One said “sorry we don’t have a transportation ministry”

Oh and how can I forget, emailing a dozen churches when I was freshly escaped, begging for a ride and a community and something positive to spend my time doing, and no church would take me. They all said “we don’t have a transportation ministry” or “no one lives near you” so fuck churches honestly

Everyone deserves the amount of tasty, nutritious food that they want for their body. Yes, that includes treats. No, their size has nothing to do with it. It's a basic bodily autonomy issue. No one should be too poor to eat the food they want.

An awful lot of people seem eager to watch the disabled, marginalized, poor and elderly starve

You know what we donate to the local food pantries? We donate MONEY. Because they can turn that money into what those they serve need the most. I do not know what those folks need better than the food pantry does. So I give them my dollars and they turn them into something useful.

Sweet Jesus, do not donate seeds to your food bank in October. Honestly, don’t donate seeds to your food bank unless you are specifically asked to, and even then I would think REALLY HARD about whether that’s regionally appropriate.

When I needed food donations, I was in student housing.

Here’s what’s going to happen. She was a mobile order customer. I know her name and her car. If I see her again, I simply won’t serve her, I’ll step out and my manager will do it. I ask for SO LITTLE from Taco Bell and I am their drive thru star. They will protect me for 5 minutes.
