Football and sports in general are our country's best escape.
My dad, who would not stick out as an obvious football fan, has spent ~3 weeks going daily to the hospital to be with a loved one. I know it's been very taxing on him.
Last night's game clearly was a welcome distraction for him.

Same here. Pretty sad that I once saw 30 seconds of Diagnosis Murder and went "That's Piru!" after only seeing a building facade. Ditto for some episodes of The Pretender, and season 3 episode "Angels On Vacation" of Charlie's Angels.
