Ideas are, no question, the cheap part. I have SPREADSHEETS of ideas, and if I keep up my current production rate, which is already unrealistically high, I will die before I finish using them all. EXECUTION is the important part.

America, you have spoken loud and clear: You do not like AI. But what if AI is the way to restart the world’s idea machine?
We’re running out of good ideas. AI might be how we find new ones.
What if the best use of AI is restarting the world’s idea machine?

Out on the road today
Saw a Propaghandi wrap around a Cybertruck
Little voice inside my head said
Dang that sucks, that could never not suck
I thought I knew what punk was
What did I know
Those trucks are so fashtastic
I hope this one gets towed...

Bird flu warnings are being ignored. I’ve seen this pattern before
H5N1 has a 50% fatality rate in humans. Yet we’re dismantling the systems designed to catch it early.

Hey #Alabama. Big request. We got a survey on policies for the working class and we need this to spread like wildfire across the state so we can drive candidates on what they need to do. Thank you for your attention to this matter. docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...
Organize Alabama First (OrganizeAF)
If you are a resident of Alabama, we want to hear from you. Let us know what working class policies need to be prioritized for the coming year in this state. There are a lot of issues to tackle—we’ve ...

We're likely seeing another big Overton shift, and not in a leftward way. Sure, a handful of conservatives are sick of his BS, and *may* vote blue or abstain etc., but all that does is just make the Dem party even more right-wing. They aren't changing their ethos. We need *loud progressive voices*.

The hellish stupidity entitling someone, when hearing about gun violence in another country, to say, "See, gun laws don't work, so we definitely don't need them in the US!" is as stupid as "Well criminals won't follow gun laws anyways, so we definitely don't need them in the US!" I cannot abide it.

Theater Kids? In my collaborative storytelling game?

Putting down the coded I-don't-like-the-queers-in-my-squad-combat-game obviousness, even grumpy-ass Gygax talked about becoming amateur thespians through playing the game.

You're playing pretend w/ your friends, with rules to make it fair.
I cannot express how pathetic you have to be to believe this happened in the TTRPG hobby in the last decade

Oh boy, we're 96,000 words in and I've finally convinced the principal characters to bother to be in the same room together. Why are they like this? Bunch of froward, contentious gadabouts. Don't they know I have A Big Thing happening? So irresponsible.

it is also just hilarious to insist that eight months of rush job “scholarship” outweighs decades of settled history and 140 years of settled law
Giving the game away. he has more “scholarly ammunition” than he did in January because a bunch of professional bootlicks and liars who have never had real jobs started lying about birthright citizenship in January.

I'm writing a simple found family fantasy story & that's great, but there's also some really ugly cultural conflicts re: race, & while I totally agree that fairy stories can be whatever & don't need racism as The Problem, my characters wanted to protest our RL societal calamity & I can't blame 'em.

Nov 2025 @rikiwilchins.bsky.social -- Reps privately push ban on trans care in ACA/Obamacare as part of moving any subsidy deal forward. It was stripped from the last ACA deal. This one would hurt perhaps 500k trans ppl among the 20m who need Obamacare subsidies. Even blue states would be impacted.
Republicans Privately Pushing Anti-Trans Funding Ban For ACA Subsidy Deal After Shutdown Compromise
The proposal, which was first detailed in the Wall Street Journal, could harm transgender people even in blue states if it becomes part of the negotiated deal.

Wow. Only like every librarian, teacher, professor, writer, etc worth their salt has been saying this since the damnable thing came out.
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

Our fourth estate remains complicit in the fall of the US. Generally, the press refuses to push our gov't to be accountable, is thrilled w/ MAGA darlings using center-right talking points & is unwilling call out nasty behavior. Journalists have a duty to shine a light on depravity, not help hide it.

You know how many foods, when allowed to sit in proper conditions for a few days, just become More? Soups become richer, curry becomes spicier, lasagna becomes more decadent?

Well, my mother, through sheer accident, has found the worst possible application of this effect.
