My book "Researching Language and Digital Communication" is hereeee.

It may just be the most camp discussion of DMC so far. Including analyses of:

- Dolly Parton memes
- TikTok videos of Jungle and Billie Eilish
- anonymous Grindr profiles

I'm glad you put this disclaimer in 😅

Happy to have commented on this piece.

It *really* annoys me when people talk about MLE, they often assume that Cockney has just disappeared. Go to the Salmon and Ball on Bethnal Green Road and tell me Cockney has disappeared (!)

Really, really interesting piece 👇🏼
Newspapers are full of stories about the disappearance of London's historical East Enders. The truth is a lot more complicated www.the-londoner.co.uk/is-the-cockn...

"While Britain was redefining what a woman is, China was building five nuclear reactors," says Kemi Badenoch.

I cannot be the only person curious about how these two things are related

Apparently, some progressives still believe working class kids should be told to stay in their lane when it comes to education, long before they're even allowed to drink in pubs.

The Gender Critical have already inundated this survey with their disgusting views on banning trans people from using the ponds.

Would be a shame if we inundated with trans positive views on not banning trans people.

A lot of our research can and does connect with societal problems. But a lot of academics are much more comfortable churning out journal articles (that no one in society ever reads) than actually talking to or working with the people who they study.

A massive privilege to have worked with Grace over the past 3 years. Grace has co-led on the development and delivery of the accent bias training that we've introduced at the University of Edinburgh. I have no doubt she'll go on to do amazing things in her career 🙌
