My favorite fact to impose on people at New Year’s parties (when I made it past 9:30) is: Dom Pierre Pérignon was a 17th century Benedictine monk. The property where he lived is now where the champagne is made but he didn’t invent it. He rejected all luxury & would likely decry the brand. Cheers! 🍾
