Tech Support maven, big huge Guster Fan, i love dogs and stuff. Refusing to call it Gulf of America because that screws up the lyrics to "Up On Cripple Creek," and I will die on that hill.
what's a good thing to do to brighten a grey morning & get your day started right?

Watch the Billy Strings Tiny Desk Concert, that's what. Trust me, you won't be sorry.

I wish anything I did in life was half this good. Damn, son.

Billy Strings: Tiny Desk Concert
The bluegrass virtuoso brings back the spirit of Tiny Desk's early days: fewer microphones to capture "the way these instruments are meant to sound."

I have a coworker in need of a kidney. That's not something I get to say every day. I'm sharing his flyer, if you are in/around the DC area & find it in your heart to help Jamaal, either by getting tested to donate or just do the GoFundMe, you know what to do.

Some sister and cousin time down in Richmond this weekend. One of our cousins probably won't make it to the end of the year so we went to say goodbye. Not a lot of photo ops, but a little proof.

Mimosas at village Cafe RVA, and home together with miss toffee.

I'm disappointed that Spotify wrapped comes out at the beginning of december.

My dudes, i still have WEEKS to go so I can mess up my rankings or work a wonky weird-ass #1 most listened to song into my stats. Give me my weeks!

Also still mad at myself that I use spotify so much.

TIL:

there is a jam band named Goose.
there is an indie rock band named Geese.

Why are we this way, people. Why?

Also, I like them both very much.

Listen to Linda, yinz.
Come over here for a second. Sit down. I want to talk about Thanksgiving.

You know how the release of a new … I don’t know, STAR WARS movie or something will sometimes result in a silly number of increasingly tenuous pieces of writing or video or whatever? Thanksgiving is that, for food people.

last night, I set out to bake apple muffins. Couldn't find the muffin tins, so I opted for an apple.... loaf? Not quite bread, not quite muffin, completely uncooked in the middle (even though I tested to make sure...)

Not quite a failure because it is TASTY AF, yinz. Would try again for sure. 1/2

every year, there are a couple things that bring me absolute joy and this is one of them.

McSweeney's never disappoints, and I've laffed my fat gourd lovin' ass off annually since they first posted it.

Go read it, and behold, motherfuckers!

i love this. be the kind of host who has something wonderful to serve that doesn't include alcohol.

lots of people do not drink for lots of reasons. They don't deserve to be offered tap water just because all you planned for was The Drunkening.

A little planning turns you into a rockstar host.
Just a friendly reminder as we go into the holidays:

Folks don't have to explain to you why they don't drink.

If you offer them a drink and they decline, don't ask them why. It's not your business.

Just offer them something without alcohol to drink instead. And move on.

I was absolutely appalled & offended when I saw the name of the latest DHS "operation.". Naming your anti-immigrant offensive after a very beloved children's book based on love & loyalty is shitty. I'm sure they thought it was clever.

Read this insightful take.

Gregory Bovino is exactly who E.B. White — author of 'Charlotte's Web' — warned us about
DHS named its North Carolina anti-immigrant effort "Operation Charlotte's Web." In 1940, White wrote of the "smell" that "rises" from those who "adjust to fascism" over freedom.
