Hi #writingcommunity! I'm C.M. Lloyd. I write science fiction and horror, but I've also been dabbling in literary fiction of late.
While I usually stick to short stories, I'm working on a novel (or novella, we'll see where it lands) called "The Shift" that I hope to have finished early next year.

Yup, this. Right now in the system we have, we need options between "all rights reserved" and "no rights exist." Like, say, non-commercial clauses that make work accessible for people to read while still requiring Facebook to get permission and pay up if they want to profit off people's work.
I'd love to get rid of copyright, because it's built on bad assumptions about what culture is and how it works.
But I have come to think of this kind of thing as an "airlock problem": if you just throw open the door without balancing the pressure first, people get blown into space and die

I'm pretty far copyleft. I think it's important to have frameworks in place to allow people to share their creative work on their own terms, and I think it's absurd to view every infringing download as a lost sale
