The Dufferin & Bathurst bus priority lanes are the only way to break the transit death spiral in Toronto. They must happen & the mayor needs to make sure they’re a raging success. Mission critical as future fixes rely on their success. My column this week. Pls read n share.
Shawn Micallef: How this transit plan could finally make ‘Sufferin’ Dufferin’ a thing of the past
There are 'RapidTO' plans to create transit priority lanes on Dufferin as well as Bathurst streets.

Hot take: the best journalists are, in a way, activists.

If your journalism isn't guided by a desire to make the world kinder and fairer through access to factual information, you're simply a stenographer for the status quo.
I’m totally fine with being called a radical rogue professor. lol

But on a serious note, yes “activist” has been used to delegitimize people who are focused on equity, care and questioning systems.

I’ve dealt with the activist vs. journalist label my entire career.

It’s a control tactic.

Did you know that new LRTs could be stuck waiting at red lights? After years of waiting and $ billions invested, Crosstown and Finch West LRTs should be as fast and reliable as possible!

So tired of this constant campaigning schtick. If it’s sunny, Brad takes credit. If it rains, Brad blames Chow. If Chow proposes umbrellas, Brad says Chow’s wasting money. When it rains again, Brad will ask why Chow didn’t buys umbrellas.

Enough, man.
"Toronto cannot be ground to a halt, we cannot be seized and snowed in, and brought to our knees, because of a snow storm," says Councillor Brad Bradford. He calls it a "failure of leadership."

"I still have not seen the mayor take any accountability for this," he says.
