this is a Minnesotan thing, but it’s also a gender thing. Lots of women in MN clock ICE as just the most heavily armed version of “that type of guy” they’ve had to deal with their whole lives. And they’re not tolerating it! So many badass women and femme folk on the front lines for that reason.
“I feel like our whole lives as Minnesotans — I’m not sure if America feels this way — but it’s always kind of like, ‘Don’t even start that kind of thing because you have to live around these people,’” Michele said. “I feel that’s gone in me personally — I don’t even care if I ruffle feathers.”
