"Did you see what Mark Cuban posted? Oh did you see the clapb—"

You shake yourself awake in the cold North Atlantic water. You are not online. It is July of 1858. You are a baleen whale, and you have changed your mind. The future most not come to pass. The telegraph cable must break.

abolish ice. theres no middle road on this and democrats will have to be held to it.
ICE detain father shopping on Christmas Eve—then steal his family's groceries.

Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.

"Can I just get the wife's number to call and let her know?" woman asks.

"No, guess he should've complied," agent says.

"The hot new thing right now is to be a Christian nationalist. And unfortunately, it means hurting an awful lot of people along the way."

This Christmas, check out our interview with @maklelan.bsky.social, who discusses how politicians have used the Bible to serve their own interests.
The Bible says so…or does it?
On this week’s “More To The Story,” religious scholar and TikTok star Dan McClellan examines how some Christian nationalists use—and often abuse—the Bible to gain political power.

The irony is, there actually IS one person I can think of who talks eloquently, and often, about how his faith informs him as a person and a citizen, and who does it in a way that even atheists listen to and respect. But CBS canceled his late-night show and it’s going off the air in May.

Maybe I'm wrong! Maybe people will love this! But man, it feels like there are a million different ways you could engage with interesting questions about the roles that faith and religion play in Americans' lives, and "Steven Pinker vs. Ross Douthat" is just the laziest and hackiest one.

In 2018 I fell in love with the Central Park mandarin duck, and I think of them as the most gorgeous waterfowl ever. You can see why here.
Alright this guy is calling it for the weekend. Busy few days of unioning and hummingbird photography before loading up the sleigh. In the meantime, may I offer two mandarin ducks? 🪶
