Right. So my idea of Git Submodules were wrong. My next best idea would be to fork Godot Engine separately and keep it as a Submodule with the fork for now.
In the future, it might be best to just have a regular fork. I don't know though, I never did this much modification of another project befor

Server is back up for another few days.
If anyone wants to get some of my git files, now is the time to do it. In a couple days I'll be gone for a few months and my mother vowed nothing in my room will be on. So I can't leave the server up.

I learned how to package .deb now.
unfortunately, the packages I want to package (for me locally, haven't gotten to signing and other quirks) take so long to package on my laptop, so I am probably just going to package the stuff on my server instead. It may have a crap hard drive and no graphics c

fixed my server.
It didn't recognize the network interface while it's using the primary name and when it's down. So I have to manually edit /etc/network/interfaces, restart networking.service, then remove the config because on subsequent boots it breaks. Something about "not recognizing the hardwa

My ~hot game dev tip~ is to make sure you're considering standard QOL genre functionality and expectations around mechanics/UI/UX.
What this means: Does ESC open the menu? Does clicking outside a sub-menu close it? Is autosaving communicated? etc
What it doesn't mean: Adding a fishing minigame (😔)

- forgejo updated to version 12.
- switched from kdeplasma to awesomewm for performance gains (and tiling)
- removed docker-desktop in favor of the command line for performance gains (and to not interact with Gordon)
- I believe I also saved space, but I am unsure of
