Which, for those who don’t know, is undeniably illegal.

Even DHS *grudgingly* admits that the statute giving Congress oversight of ICE facilities—passed in the wake of Trump 1.0 bc of, you know, all this the first time—does not give ICE the right to deny MOCs access, ever.
ICE denied U.S. Reps. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) and Jonathan Jackson (D-IL) entry into it’s facility in Chicago.

What drives me crazy about the anti-DEI rhetoric is everyone wants to be judged on merit. But you can't be judged on merit if you can't even get in the door because you don't fit some prejudiced definition of who is capable and who isn't

Trump: "If you notice, every country that has the death penalty has no drug problem. They execute drug dealers. And when you think about it, it's very humane, because every drug dealer on average they say kills at least 500 people ... I don't know if our country is ready for it. I am ready for it."

Democrats voted yes.

Republicans voted no.
