Though difficult to read, this is an absolutely fascinating analysis into the extent of Better Wellington's negative campaigning techniques and the impact that they, and others, had on my mayoralty.

🧵Spotted While Roaming in Aotearoa New Zealand:

A man (80s?) is leaning heavily on hiking poles while wandering along with his elderly three-legged dog. They might not be fast going, but they are fast friends. Taking their time, admiring the view. A river unhurriedly gurgling along nearby. (1)

Kiwis are delivering their verdict on this government with their feet - 125,000 gave up and left last year. That’s a person heading for the departure lounge every 4 minutes. The National/ACT agenda of slashing and privatizing will only drive more away.

I welcome the Media Council's ruling regarding a recent Newstalk ZB opinion piece that questioned the legitimacy of my landslide victory in the 2022 elections. The piece attacked the integrity of our voting system as well as the mandate given to me by nearly 30,000 Wellingtonians. #nzpol 1/
The Media Council has upheld my complaint against NZME, saying Barry Soper’s article on Tory Whanau made a “serious error that cast unfounded doubt on the legitimacy of the process that led to Ms Whanau becoming mayor.” They agreed the correction both fell short and confused the matter further. 1/

The fact that David Seymour and the ACT party who only got 8% of the vote can introduce TWO pieces of CONSTITUTIONALLY UNDERMINING
legislation, one of which will become law, is a clear example of the broken and corruptible nature of our political system (by design).
