The way NBC has framed this doesn’t quite convey what Johnson is threatening. The idea is not nuking the federal judicial branch en masse, but rather having Congress use its laser eyes to selectively destroy a district court or two for making a ruling the GOP doesn’t like so as to overawe the rest.
Speaker Mike Johnson floats the possibility of Congress eliminating federal courts.

This comes as courts have blocked a series of actions taken by the Trump administration, along with Trump and his allies calling for the impeachment of certain district court judges.

Republican lawmakers are setting their sights on the judiciary following court rulings that have halted Trump's agenda.

what kind of stock trades do you think your senator has lined up for tomorrow morning? is that what they're working on tonight instead of figuring out how to get those teenagers out of the servers at the treasury?

If you Google "inauguration day," you're greeted with an animation of fireworks forming the shape of the American flag. Google has never done something like this for the inauguration, sources told me, out of fear of appearing partisan. But that's changed now, with Sergey and Sundar attending.

Incredible how thoroughly Democrats got played here. Spent four years following through on a Trump executive order, pissed away any shot at building a real youth coalition for 2024 by alienating literally every teenager in America, lost the election, and now Trump gets to "save" TikTok. Clown shit.
In a new post from the official TikTok account, CEO Shou Chew thanked Trump for his efforts to keep TikTok available in the U.S. He characterized Trump's stance as a pro-free speech effort and touted Trump's own success on TikTok

Shout-out to all those hard-nosed, law-respecting, do-what-it-takes cops and prosecutors who didn't do a thing about it.

This is another example of why I'm radicalized against prostitution laws: they're only ever used to prosecute poor women and the victims of sex trafficking.
