The "unified command" at Broadview has been such a disaster. The village is broadly anti-ICE and the individual ISP officers definitely do not want to be doing this. But now that they're on one side (with the feds) and we're on the other, they're gonna do what cops do.

Moreover, "they're going to get you hurt" is just a different way to say "if those guys (who we *claim to know* are not real protesters) do something, we're going to shoot *you*."

Anyway, just thought this was worth reporting. Stay safe, don't fall for their tricks.

Now, I remain agnostic as to whether paid agitators actually exist. I'm sure there are documented cases (though the question remains--paid by whom?). But I am absolutely sickened by the vile attempt by the feds to get us to turn against ourselves. We did not fall for it.

Yesterday at Broadview, while a group of us were recuperating across 25th, away from the action, federal agents starting frantically telling us that "those two guys [behind you] are paid agitators! They're going to get you hurt!"

I realize it probably wasn't @govpritzker.illinois.gov's intent -- but it appears that by providing state police to Broadview, it freed up more militarized ICE units to go tear gas people in neighborhoods.

They were literally directing traffic so that ICE vehicles could enter and exit. They kept protesters off public streets to do this. This officer removed his name badge and would not answer when I asked for his name.
