It sounds like I'm complaining, but I'm not. At least this map acknowledges that there is an entire world outside the US.

Google is using its monopoly position in search AND browsers AND mobile operating systems to edge out its upstart competitors in AI.

They suffered no consequences for doing this with search and browsers, and they are showing impunity in doing it with AI.

Regardless of what you think about AI […]

I'll never not be amazed by the fact that this is a full computer. It makes sense when you think that our phones are as powerful, sometimes more and are roughly the same size.

Larry Ellison, the world’s 2nd-richest man, predicts an AI surveillance state where “we’re constantly recording & reporting everything.”

Are we headed toward a future where every call, text, email & search is tracked by billionaires?

That's not democracy. It's authoritarianism.

I never feel more disconnected from Western cinema than when I see nominations for the Golden Globes or the Oscars.

My reactions are usually "never heard of this movie" "who's that?" "is this movie out already?" "oh yes, people online said it was great, maybe one day I'll get to see it?"

I mean, if shops make customers work for them, it's normal that customers get paid somehow.
Personally, I don't steal, ever. So I refuse to use self-checkout. If there is no other option, I play stupid and ask for the staff to do it for me.
