Delighted to hear my Ward Colleague @garethkane.bsky.social and Colin Ferguson, Leader of @newcastlelibdems.bsky.social bringing up the issue of the Tees Valley Incinerator again.

Imagine locking yourself into a 30 year contract when the Walkman was first launched.

Unlike Farage, we're proud of Britain.

Britain has problems that need fixing, but we must never forget our strengths, our people and our values.

They are what make this country special.🇬🇧

I'm glad Keir Starmer is finally stepping up the fight against Nigel Farage, and I hope this will mark the end of his government parroting Farage and copying his divisive politics.

These are some of the most extreme restrictions on immigration in years. We're told to see them as benign because they're less bad than Farage's far-right extremism. But they are still terrible.

Newcastle gets £50m to tackle potholes but needs more - BBC News share.google/CN79OpAkHTgV...

I think I've found most of the 50 potholes they claim to be "fixing" each day.

There's 30 on this one patch on the slip road off the Central Motorway alone 🤣

Today Newcastle stood up to the fascists and sent a strong message that the far right are not welcome here. Proud of my city! 💛💛💛💛💛

The @libdems.org.uk have become the first major UK party to recognise Israel's genocide‌ in Gaza.

Thank you @eddavey.libdems.org.uk for your courage and leadership, as Starmer and Labour continue to look away.

#GazaGenocide.

"What is happening in Gaza is a genocide. And the President of the United States, who wants a Nobel Peace Prize, is doing nothing to stop it."

Media coverage matters. The BBC is a trust anchor in this country and it is vital that the undue prominence of Reform does not continue. Sign our petition: www.libdems.org.uk/bbc

The most heartbreakingly powerful piece I’ve ever read on Substack. Please, please read and share. And look after your family, friends, neighbours and colleagues for whom England is becoming frightening.

Kemi Badenoch refusing to acknowledge that Tommy Robinson is "far-right", now on LBC, and refusing to condemn Elon Musk's words. In fact she says what Musk said *isn't* incitement. So what would be incitement then? How violent would his words have to be before he was deemed a threat to this country?

Many thanks to our Neighbourhood Police for taking the time to meet with Manor Park residents to discuss the issues with which they are most concerned. This kind of engagement is much appreciated.

So proud of my Ward Colleague for digging into the murky world of Energy from Waste.

Yes there will always be some element of residual waste that can't be #recycled but we need to work to get that amount down, not lock into 30 year contracts to burn it.
