Just pointing out that the UK has the highest pension and minimum wage we ever had. Also the highest level of regulatory protection.

Because it is rarely mentioned when everyone talks about how terrible everything is.

Also just to correct Matt Goodwin, who lied and said the UK spends:

"£15 billion housing asylum seekers"

- no we don't. It was 2.1 billion this last year.

And largely that's because the government is too stupid to let them work & help them get jobs while they wait for a decision. #bbcqt
UK's asylum hotel bill down 30%, government says
The Home Office's annual accounts show £2.1bn was spent on hotel accommodation in the year to March 2025.

Reform UK supporting Matt Goodwin says because we are broke taxes have to go up

Brexit costs us £40 billion a year in lost tax income from trade with the EU, this is why we are broke

If you vote for Reform you're voting for the same people who made us broke, to fix us being broke 🤷‍♂️ #BBCQT

Reform will apparently pledge today that they'd abolish indefinite leave to remain - including retrospectively, to people already granted it. Obviously this is a moral abomination but it is also a practical and legal impossibility.

And he rapes women and children!!!🤮

Which once upon a time in the USA pedophilia was an atrocity that no one condoned, today evidently kids are not only shot at in schools but now this sick maga society thinks it’s ok to molest and assault, and rape children.

Magas have totally lost their way!

This is an extraordinary piece of telly. Utterly damming of the corruption of the last Conservative Government - and of our political and legal systems which have failed even to aspire to holding those chancers to account.

Day in, day out, I speak to ordinary people who are organising to welcome the asylum seekers accommodated in their towns.

They befriend, support them, reach out to them as fellow human beings.

That's the Britain I know, the one I see around me & we never get told about on TV.

A reminder: Asylum seekers are in hotels because of a huge application backlog that the gov't must work through. Robert Jenrick - now, bursting with creative solutions - processed applications slowly ***on purpose*** as a deterrent.

Here he is, as Immigration Minister two years ago, saying so. ~AA

This whole small boats asylum seeker (issue) is such a load of distraction bollox. There’s 44 million tax payers in the UK ffs! If a decent society can’t help a few desperate people it needs to take a feckin good look at itself.

It’s not people on small boats that got us 96% GDP/debt ratio!
