"Fascist Republicans are so thrilled with being in the public eye that they end up exposing their own ugliness," writes @markjacob.bsky.social in his examination of the viral Vanity Fair interview of Trump's Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles.

"May their ambition and their narcissism be their undoing."
MAGA’s lust for publicity may be its undoing
The Wiles interviews give us hope that Republicans’ egos are their fatal flaw

There’s only one story tonight - Trump is unwell and unfit. Everything else is just detail.
We are nearing the end of the Trump era.
OMG Trump is so gone. We are in a dangerous place.

Trump on Venezuela: "Getting land, oil rights, whatever we had -- they took it away because we had a president that maybe wasn't watching. But they're not gonna do that. We want it back. They took our oil rights. We had a lot of oil there. They threw our companies out. And we want it back."

The appropriate response to this insane performance is that Trump clearly needs to step down.

This is now the third time this year the Cowardly Speaker has sent the House home early when things weren't going his way.
Deciding when to recess the House to "district work periods" isn't some inherent or longstanding power of the Speaker. It was only added to the rules for the first time in this Congress. Otherwise this would have required the full House to vote on it, which could have been defeated.
As expected, in order to avoid a vote on extension of the ACA, Mike Johnson is gaveling the House into recess.

An estimated 200,000 people have fled fighting in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo just days after Trump hailed a “historic” peace deal to end the conflict.

Thank you, especially, to Republic state Senators of IN who finally found their spines!
Wow, incredible. The country has grown very tired of his bullshit.
Indiana’s Senate has voted AGAINST the GOP gerrymander that’d have locked in a 9-0 map.

This keeps the 7-2 map in place, saving two Democratic seats heading into 2026.

The vote failed big, 19/31.

The MAJORITY of the GOP senators opposed it!
