The RIAA was suing teenagers. We had to sit through ⬇️ this shit anytime we wanted to watch a DVD. A whole generation shamed for using Limewire and torrents. Only for these silicone valley assholes to now find copyright infringement a necessary evil they shouldn’t have to answer for

i have to stop myself thinking about this too much because the rage of it is so great. and then the general sense on top of that that books simply don't matter as much as films and music so they're worth throwing away!

They're dry by the time I get there!

I think they should move forwards the lessons about how to not wander out into the middle of busy roads to induction week so that we don't have to worry every year when the students arrive in Manchester. I think they're covering it in year two currently

And no they're not queuing for the door. The door is where someone pops their head out and calls your name specifically, some 30 minutes after you queued and registered at the desk

Yikes. Just got a message from my child’s school: some children’s books by Andrew Cope (inc. Spy Dogs, Spy Cats, and Spy Pups series) have a printed URL at the back. This used to go to the author’s website, but now goes to an “adult content” site.

So, yeah… be careful with that URL 😳

Very much the dead internet. All those comics marvel did with ugly great big AR symbols on top of gorgeous art, evey qr code on the back of every book. All now filled with the equivalent of digital landfill.

This has happened in the time I've been here. 15 minutes ago we were all sensibly queuing in the queue
The queue at the pharmacy desk at the Manchester Royal. The cordoned winding queue is completely abandoned and a free-range queue formed alongside it. It is harder to reach the desk from this. At any time, a rogue agent could simply enter the ribboned queue and effectively skip the queue, but due to the actions of these rogues THEY would be the AH in that situation, ARE COUNTRY'S GONE MAD

Yeah, but even THAT was 15 years ago! Middle graders didn't even see that! (Which is a relief, I seem to remember it was even worse than the original)

Yeah don't worry, I was just jokin' and japin' :)

Mm, that does make it tricky though. I guess we wait for that paperback

The new weighing machines at the hospital have a loud artificial voice that says "LOOK STRAIGHT" which is fine for me but just be aware xx

Big shout out to all the people at Thought Bubble who come to interact with me during my “small talk work in progress” hours of Friday night and Saturday until about 3pm, for the benefit of people after that time who will get the fully polished chat and anecdotes until I go home at 5pm 🫡

The intriguing aspect of Rocky Horror is that everyone under 45 watched it with no knowledge of 70s B-movies.

I am by no means a big Kurzgesagt fan, but I'm grateful for their newest. They have a big audience; it matters.

I've started to realise that the kind of person who I cannot comprehend in the slightest what they're on about, how they think and what they could possibly be getting out of life, are the sort of people who don't like or comprehend art

(they call those people neurotypical but I DONT KNOW)

if you’ve ever watched the apprentice, that’s the world without arts or humanities degrees

(I dunno if that's one of those big idiot things to say, but I am one so it's fine, if anything it's disrespectful to point it out if so)

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

I just found out Retro Gamer is now older than the games it was about were when it started, aarghh

Amazing that it's still going though. I remember dad telling me he'd seen it in the shops and that it had a brilliant little tag on it that said "Old!"
