@mrjamesob.bsky.social Listening to today's show on catch up and I had a thought on the propoganda topic and I think the answer to why people aren't awake to the danger is the same as 'why is propaganda so effective', I think it's because things feel hard at the moment.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social I'm listening to today's show on catch up so you may get a caller who posits this thought but I think Labour will inevitably adopt a similar tax set up to Scotland. The issue I see with this is that Scottish Labour have spent years attacking the SNP for the structure (1/2)

@sturdyalex.bsky.social the pro-tip about Nistisima food is brilliant pro-tip! My partner & I are thinking about going to Athens and we're vegetarian so it's one I'll be remembering!

@quietriotpod.bsky.social Come for the political content and get added extras along the way. 😂✌🏻

@mrjamesob.bsky.social The segment you had with Roman Kemp was really good & the initiative sounds amazing. It actually sounds like something that could be scaled to every sport in the UK, hell every football league in the UK.
Honestly, such an impressive initiative.

Has anyone used @zipcar.bsky.social flex to hire a car to go to the shop (like ASDA) and back?
Just trying to decide whether I can use flex for this & have the car coming out of the shop to drive home or if I need a round trip. #zipcar #london

Why wait?
W/ their ultimatum to Israel to work towards a 2 state solution means that they'll have to recognise a Palestinian state eventually.
This just gives the option to kick into the long grass w/ Israel giving a lip service ceasefire & promising to work towards 2 states but never delivering.

"As part of a peace deal".

Starmer still dedicated to giving Israel veto power over the recognition of Palestine. We know they'd never allow it, he knows they'd never allow it, they'd murder hundreds of thousands more to prevent it.

A complete charade.

These pictures will be remembered for centuries.

Future generations will ask:

"Who did what, and when?

Who made this abomination possible?

Who spoke out - and who remained silent?"

Make sure you have good answers.

@maitlis.bsky.social is 100% right here. You can't rail against unjust bonuses then stand back when those bonuses are converted to salary instead.

The answer is nationalisation, which Labour won't countenance but which we've had in Scotland the whole time.
"People are saying to 𝙮𝙤𝙪 it's unacceptable money - you can't say it back to them, you've got to act on it!"

Environment Sec. Steve Reed agrees water bosses’ pay is outrageous, but what will 𝘩𝘦 do about it?

Every day, Israel deliberately massacres unarmed civilians it has deliberately starved.

How is this possible?

Because instead of framing Israel’s atrocities as obscene outrages demanding urgent action, the Western media has normalised Israel’s atrocities.

Every day, the same story, the same moral pit. The fall of this murderous government can't come soon enough. The only suitable place for Netenyahu is in court for war crimes.

What an insane story but fabulous piece of investigative journalism.
I'd never read The Salt Path but the backdrop discovered here could be a book/film in its own right.
Penniless and homeless, Raynor and Moth Winn found fame with their story of their 630-mile walk to salvation. The Salt Path became a global bestseller and was adapted into a major film.

But we can reveal it wasn’t the whole truth.

Personally, I'd reserve overheated rhetoric like "national shame" for our (and the international community's) failure to take action to halt systematic war crimes and the deliberate murder of starving civilians, not what some rappers said at a music festival.

Waiting for news outlets and reporters to acknowledge that maybe, just maybe, reporting Trump's social media posts on foreign policy without confirmation is deeply irresponsible and an embarrassing failure of journalism.

When even your whips won’t whip or vote for a Bill, you must surely pause and rethink. The Welfare Bill is cruel. It is morally wrong, economically illiterate and politically naive. Bravo this woman, that’s what leadership looks like 👇
(1/2) With a heavy heart, I have written to the Prime Minister to tender my resignation as a whip.

Whilst I will continue to support the government in delivering the change the country so desperately needs, I cannot vote in favour of the proposed reforms to disability benefits.
