The Trump Administration recently proposed ESA rules that make it easier for corporations to push through environmentally destructive projects. These changes will have disastrous effects, pushing wildlife towards extinction.

De-extinction company Colossal Biosciences claims to have brought back the dire wolf – it hasn’t.
No, the dire wolf has not been brought back from extinction
Colossal Biosciences claims three pups born recently are dire wolves, but they are actually grey wolves with genetic edits intended to make them resemble the lost species

in case you're wondering, "what's the harm in claiming an extinct species has been brought back from the dead" when it most certainly has not, our interior secretary is already using it to justify taking animals off the endangered species list

Flow was made in Blender and cost only $3.7 million -- but it defeated Hollywood at the Oscars.

This is a huge moment for its team. It's just as huge for European animation, and the ecosystem that nurtured Flow, Robot Dreams and so many other films: animationobsessive.substack.com/p/flow-takes...

I wish more studios showed the 3d animatic/layout process of their films. There's little BTS stuff shown now that DVD extras are no longer what they used to be, but usually they'd only show little clips of layout at most. An entire movie this way? Heck yes. Great tool for others to learn from.
I’m excited to announce that due to popular demand, we will release the full animatic of Flow aka Float aka the Crazy Frog Edition. Instead of using storyboards, all the scenes are designed directly in 3D. Everything was made in Blender and rendered in EEVEE.

When an idea comes from the heart , you dont need the biggest budget to make it true. It just takes dedication and commit to it, no matter the media (comic, graphic novel, animation) Go out there and create stories, we all have one to tell!

They don't really look like much, but it's difficult to describe the impact of these experiments. Many of our colleagues were quite surprised that this kind of thing could actually work. All that we'd done before—Mindgame, Animatrix, going back to Noiseman and Extra—was considerably less complex.
