There's literally a famous quote about it:

"Meet me in the middle" says the unjust man. You take a step forward. He takes a step back. "Meet me in the middle" says the unjust man.

Running "centrist" is just this. Repeatedly. Constantly.

“I had to flat out tell [the Microsoft sales team] VP we're not buying any fucking copilot - whereupon she revealed that the only thing she is being measured on for Q4 is sales of copilot, so if that's off the table the conversation is not interesting. LMAO”

Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:
www.citizensinformation.ie/en/employmen...
Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."

It's consistently fairly good, with some continued standout episodes. Definitely worth keeping in your rotation.

So I guess the US was also a fascist country when FDR was putting Japanese Americans in internment camps, right?

simple question that any carbrain will refuse to answer is:

would you rather be hit by a car or a cyclist going 20mph?

they know the dangers. they'll not admit them. if they did, they'd need to have a hard discussion, and they're unwilling to bruise their pride to do so.

Thousands of road deaths a year caused by motor vehicles, speeding almost completely ignored by authorities, drink and drug driving at record highs and this is how you choose to spend your time, boasting about your stupid stunt and your shit marketing company on LinkedIn. Pathetic.
Idiot marketing knumskulls on LinkedIn putting boards up at traffic lights about cyclists jumping red lights

it speaks volumes that people who are afraid of the colors of the rainbow have such a deep yearning to be validated by anyone that they'll fire anyone competent and replace them with a deeply unqualified turnip because they hope it'll make people think they're sooooo strong

A fireball lit up the sky across the Los Angeles area on Thursday night after an explosion at a Chevron refinery in El Segundo, alarming nearby residents who said it felt like an earthquake. The cause of the explosion was not clear. No injuries were reported. nyti.ms/42pPCaW

We're agreed completely on this point, I should have been clearer in my first post.

When a system is built that can be wielded and utilized as a weapon - someone will always inevitably try.

28 people sounds good, but it only takes one or two of them to give unrestricted perpetual access to ICE or SPD to track and target people throughout the city.

Some people are taking responsibility for telling the truth and speaking up for their communities. And it doesn't have to do with age or experience. This is leadership that comes from moral clarity.

Sound Transit CEO Dow Constantine just told the board's rider experience committee that East Link has officially entered the system integration phase.

That means you'll see single trains with up to four cars operating across the I-90 bridge "intermittently."

With this statement, Milford police have officially insinuated that grevious harm or murdering pedestrians and cyclists is okay, so long as you use a car to inflict it.

Their refusal to hold drivers' actions accountable is complicity in perpetuating harm to their community.

Can we politely ask that the Office of Planning & Community Development remove the businesses instead?

If it's that easy to remove infrastructure without outreach, same rules should apply to business owners, right?

maybe the US would actually fix some of its problems if pizza hut would've had an adult version of their reading program, where they could get a $1 personal pizza if you had read two books within 6 weeks.

the upshot would have increased literacy, increased library traffic, added pizza jobs, etc
