This is, again, a situation where competent communication would have avoided a real big swerve. The first I saw about this entire thing was someone who I believe is a site engineer just kind of frustrated shit-posting about people not knowing about genAI vs machine learning, and not great!

Just chiming in to say I agree with the others in this thread—it’s an issue of trust, and what the contract looks like. If they say they don’t use submitted images for modeling training, it’s whether or not you trust them.

Funny thing about that quote for me is that it's not telling me anything new. It's something I've known for a long time and the belief got me through a bunch of bad times.
