The concept of the BBC is a wonderful, beautiful, precious thing. Evil people know this as well as I do. Since Hutton, they've done their absolute utmost to destroy it, and, like with the NHS, they're winning.

Heartbreaking.

All the support to Robin but I hate SO much that it's come to this.
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

Pip is ace! I really recommend working with her on videogames if you can.

(and also talking to her about lichens and beetles... and maybe drawing and crochet too)
I’ll be at AdventureX and may even “network”!

Lmk if you want to talk about a) working together, b) lichens and beetles, c) both

This is a great and eye opening way to show the direct correlation between the homophobic attacks of the 80s/90s and today's transphobic attacks!

Oh this could be massive, love this - "OK you say thats the case, lets talk about how that means you are in breach of this enforcement".
We have jointly applied to the Council of Europe formally to seek re-opening of enforcement of the case of Goodwin v UK under rule 9 of the Rules for the supervision of the execution of judgments and of the terms of friendly settlements, in the European Court of Human Rights. T

And the gender criticals will still say that care is too easily accessed because they don't think trans people should exist at all.
In Glasgow, there is a 224-year waiting list for gender clinic appointments.

224 YEARS.

This is institutionalised discrimination. It's unacceptable, it's ruining people's lives and it needs to change.

We have the solution. Time for politicians to act.

There’s a developing trend of people standing for positions in left wing parties being “not openly transphobic” in the light of previous “just a little transphobia, as a treat” positions.

I’m not supporting any of them.

Open support for trans rights is a bare minimum.

They'll have doctors & schools & shops, & train stations, right?

They'll be flood proof, affordable, with solar panels & heat pumps & swift bricks, right?

It won't just be a bunch of isolated houses with only car access, in the middle of some muddy fields, built by the cheapest bidder?

Right?

We, the Liberal Democrats only official women's group, wholeheartedly stand by the amazing Woman that Cllr Chris Northwood is.

She is an inspiration to many within the party with her dedication to the party and her constituents.

She is a very deserving winner.
The Express asked us about awarding the Patsy Carlton Prize to Cllr Chris Northwood. We responded:

"This prize acknowledged an exceptional woman in Cllr Chris Northwood. The message it sends to women members and voters is that the Liberal Democrats honour and value all of our women members."

a) refuse to comply with transphobia
b) make it clear to your trans members/service users that you are going to refuse, so they know they are safe.

There is no obligation to make toilets trans-exclusionary, and doing this, before the guidance was submitted to and ratified by Parliament, is nothing more than Parliament choosing to make itself an exclusionary place.
The UK Parliament has declared its own trans bathroom ban, caving to activists who accosted a trans barrister. Originally said they were awaiting EHRC code of practice, but have now capitulated to bullying.

Looks targeted given the trans Mass Lobby this week.

Parliament surrenders to anti-trans activists on toilet policy
The UK parliament has thrown trans people under the bus on toilets, abandoning its own policy to placate activists who accosted a trans barrister on the parliamentary estate.
