Soooo... what's the plan? Will we be asking people to vote in socialism? If so, there will need to be a path for minor parties and independent candidates.
dog4fairelections.bsky.social
Well, in California, that's the Dem super-majority.
Any party with unchecked power leads to corruption and fascism.
That's why I'm using my little corner of the internet to make pathways for independent and 3rd party candidates.

Sure, I'm biased because I'm sick of the corrupt political machines behind both teams RED & BLUE. But I still say the Green Party candidate had the best take on Prop 50.

If 2 DEMs come out of the primary, then the one that is able to attract more conservative votes wins. And, btw, all the DEM candidates were asked the very same question. Full interview here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=DR4S...

Someone who used to work with Katie Porter sent me this clip from a train wreck interview with her and said “now imagine what she’s like when there aren’t cameras around.”

Even with Eric Adams dropping out of the NYC mayoral race, voters will still have to worry about the “spoiler” problem with 5 other candidates remaining in the race.

NYC could solve this by using #RankedChoiceVoting in general elections, like it already does in primaries.

Mayor Eric Adams of New York City announced on Sunday that he would abandon his campaign for a second term, just five weeks before Election Day. His name will remain on November’s ballot because the deadline to change it has passed. nyti.ms/46YbvR8

Things are starting to get more interesting. The Epstein estate has turned over another batch of materials to the House Oversight Committee more than 8,000 documents in total, including unredacted calendars, call logs, and cash ledgers.

The @nytimes.com and @natecohn.bsky.social shared their readers' ideas for how to stop gerrymandering. The most popular proposal? Proportional representation.

"Proportional representation would make gerrymandering irrelevant. But it would do a lot more than that.

Most importantly, proportional representation would make it far easier for small parties to win representation in the House."

Great idea. Proportional representation advocacy in America needs funding!! We have thoughts!!

if we are going to have online magazines for Abundance, i think a wealthy patron should fund an online magazine for electoral reform — specifically for furthering the twin causes of proportional representation and democratic revival. seems like a comparatively neglected space

tldr: His dad held state offices from 1982- 1998. His step-mom took over his dad's place in the Assembly in 2020 and still holds that seat today.

gut reaction: Yuck.

I know antifa isn't a real organization because I don't get 40 texts a week from them asking for donations.
