As the owner of a proper doujin circle myself (albeit a low-activity one), I'd like to give some context and insight.
TL;DR "doujin" isn't just "indie but Japanese". It has a rather specific and structured form.

Indie reminds me of the words like DIY, Underground, Grassroots in a way that people have been debating definitions for years. Even with no unanimous definitions, these words carry associations. But imo, if a 50M project with 1K people & a project that was made 7 dudes with a
Love how the term "indie" is used to describe both a single guy making a videogame inbetween their retail overtime shifts, and also a team of former AAA developers with family connections to obscene wealth

I recently started using the Ghostty terminal app. The guy who built it previously sold a business to IBM for a billion dollars. It’s great software, and free.
Someone asked him “what’s your business model/path to revenue?” and he said “my business model is I have a billion dollars”

This is the proper response to getting 'enough' money. Just chill out the rest of your life, do things that bring you joy.
For some people that will be something that helps others, like still farming/working/etc, for some its personal projects, for some its nothing. All are better than hoarding.

I know a couple people who made a minor fortune on dot coms, and who then just quit tech and started doing weird stuff that brought them joy. They just didn’t need any more money than they had.

just fyi, busin 0 is the prequel to wizardry: tale of the forsaken land, which got an official english release and features a lot of the same staff, just in case anyone wants to check out a similar game while waiting for this translation.
Christmas miracle - guy called trap15 just began working on a translation for Busin 0 for PS2, arguably the coolest Japanese Wizardry ever.
Said not to expect anything for at least a year, but it's exciting news nonetheless!
