> “Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered,”

We struggle now against an internal Tyranny; one that tries our souls as a strategy to exhaust our ambition for a better America.

Keep up the Good Trouble ✊, and esteem deeply the fruits of that labor.

When ICE agents snatched Andrés Jr., 20, the "habeas machine" kicked into action. Volunteers found a Spanish speaking advocate, coordinated with the man's family + @repdangoldman.bsky.social + submitted required documents. Thanks to their efforts, he was freed.

In today's "shocking but not surprising"... the kind of thing you'd expect to see from an authoritarian regime eg the old USSR. 😞

I understand the reality that conviction is unlikely, but it would be nice to see Congress do its job 😔🙄

It's not a question of politics or party. Congress has a constitutional obligation to impeach and to remove a president who commits high crimes and misdemeanors and forsakes his solemn oath.

And there has never been a president who has committed as many impeachable offenses than this one.
There's a Hill bubble narrative, posing as savvy realism, in treating impeachment as some radioactive poison and so Democrats must squash any talk of it. But there's zero evidence for that. No polls back it up, nor recent history. It's all just pundit-brained conventional wisdom eating its own tail.

As a Quaker organization, we abhor all violence because we believe every person has sacred worth.

We are deeply disturbed by the wanton, unrestrained violence we are seeing this administration carry out - both at home and abroad. Thank you, Sen. Murphy, for sounding the alarm.
What we are watching - as U.S. citizens are dragged out of cars and illegal war is waged in the Caribbean - is the corruption of the most sacred power we give the President - the power of violence.

We are no longer a democracy if the regime can use violence without restraint.

No print mags have the reach they once did. But it's notable to me that I keep seeing articles like this in People, very broad-spectrum, apolitical, at least in my experience. Gives a sense of how much this stuff is breaking through.

A leaked DOJ memo obtained by @kenklippenstein.bsky.social reveals an effort to build a list of supposedly "anti-American" groups and individuals, an escalation of the administration's crackdown on dissent. The list targets "not just the left" but "anyone who isn't a Trump supporter," he says.

Trump style Republicans are convinced they deserve to be the ones to rule over everyone else. Echos of 1860s Southern elite enslavers or 1930s Germany. No wonder their icons are confederate flags and swastikas.

I'm on the side of the values staked out in the Declaration of Independence.

The fact that four hostile drones tried to hit Zelenskyy’s plane & it’s barely a blip in the news cycle should terrify everyone. We’ve been dragged so deep into the chaos era that an attempted strike on a world leader doesn’t even break through. When this becomes normal, the world is in real danger.

I had to read the article to understand what's been happening. Apparently people are using microaggressive homophobic language against MAGA, like "JD should just come out" which associates negativity (JD) with being homosexual.
"Straight men aren’t looking for Democrats to cosplay as their drinking buddies: They’re looking for leaders who can speak plainly about the pressures and problems men face today and offer solutions."
Why Are Democrats Teasing Homophobia in New Attacks on MAGA?
The strategy demeans an important constituency of the party without providing an obvious political gain.

I saw the WH was walking back Trump's traitorous comments. Still hoping for IMPEACH, CONVICT, REMOVE 🤞 ASAP

Thought experiment: How far off the rails would Trump have to go to be convicted by the current Senate??

The more he loses his base of voters, the less pandering he'll get from Congress.
Donald Trump has signaled his eagerness to violate the Constitution from his first day in office. Danger lights have been flashing for months. The threat to hang his political adversaries for urging adherence to the Constitution should turn those flashers red.
